About Mark Steele

Mark is an experienced Board of Directors Lead Director as well as committee Chair. He has chaired both Nominating-Governance and Compensation Committees. His focus is on private companies of all sizes. Mark has extensive experience in multiple operational and functional areas including strategic partnerships, sales, product and program management, systems engineering and quality management. He is a mobile internet pioneer with several industry ‘firsts’ to his credit: pioneering smartphone, first internet browser on a mobile phone, rugged wireless laptop and rugged touch screen mobile with integrated bar code scanner. Mark has been serving his local start-up communities over the past two decades by participating in several entrepreneurial mentoring and coaching programs in San Diego and Raleigh. He was Chairman of CommNexus: SoCal's communications industry non-profit and helped create EvoNexus, the first “no strings attached” free incubator in the US. Mark also contributes his time to local universities and high Schools to ensure we have a pipeline of future entrepreneurs.
