About Mark Tan

I am a finance professional with experience across both the front and back office, and my current role involves oversight and management of trading, back and middle office functions and client service. I also primarily responsible for the calculation of performance, and GIPS verifications. My career began in IT with Goldmans Sachs and WestLB Asset Management, then spent some time trading on a proprietary basis, before joining Blackfriars as a dealer, and expanding my role to that of Operations Director at Blackfriars. What I enjoy most about my current role is the diversity of challenges it poses. As it encompasses so many different business functions, it requires a cycle of constant learning, problem solving and innovation. There is great satisfaction in implementing a change that leverages a synergy across multiple business functions and seeing it instantly deliver results. I have a BA (Hons) in Mathematics from Pembroke College, Cambridge, and an MsC in Computing from Imperial College. I am also CF30.
