Update - June 2020 - I am a CMIOSH - Just "taken early retirement " HS & E Advisor from Rolls-Royce plc @ Bristol (25 years in this role) and nearly 44 years experience working for a large Aerospace / Aero Engine Manufacturer and Defence organisation (Rolls-Royce Plc - Bristol). I have had 14 years experience working in Machine Tool Mechanical Maintenance, 6 years within a supervisory level in mechanical maintenance and within Process metal treatments, including chemicals, and the last 25 years currently working within a HS & E team for Defence Aerospace Manufacturing business at the Bristol site in the UK.(this includes Aero Engine Test and Assembly) My core skills and knowledge example are 1. Risk management and mitagation of known hazards and risks with proactive process systems in place. CDM and building or process layout changes (Change management). PPE and liaising with suppliers. 4.Liaising with site management / Trade union Safety reps and Management board HS & E committees. Workplace noise assessments. Internal auditing - espacially HS & E management system and HS & E topic based requirements. Accident / Incident investigation - in line with company requirements. Hazardous Process Safety - regarding Aero Engine Test Beds and Fuels (Storage / Distribution use for Engine Test) As a result I am CMIOSH accredited and past qualifications - Tech IOA (technician member) others - plus NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction. I continue to support HS & E issues at all levels in my working organisation. Also I have the unusual experience with working closely on the shop floor liaising with people that have experience with Management and Supervision / Assembly and Manufacturing / Machine tools / Testing of Aero Engines and ancillary parts for the Defence Business. I use IOSH CPD to record my own knowledge and competence and other HSE experiences, this is in line with IOSH recommended requirements.
