About Mark Taylor

I am a senior at Western Michigan University studying Food and Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing at The Haworth College of Business with an expected graduation in the Fall of 2021. I am the Director of Finance on the executive boards for the Food Marketing Association with hopes getting more involved and expanding my role in future semesters. Leadership: I possess the skill of leadership. When it comes to group projects, I usually always take the lead and try to organize meet up times to work on the project as well as set deadlines to have certain parts of the project done by. I believe at my previous job as an Assistant Manager at a convenience store, I advanced my skills as a leader a huge amount. I believe a huge part of being a leader means to lead by example. I feel that if you set yourself up as a good example, most people will respect and follow your lead. For example, instead of telling people to go do something, I would say something along the lines of “let’s go do this” or “this needs to be done by this time.” I think you get more of a positive reaction out of it rather than ordering someone around. I think this skill will benefit my future employer because everyone knows how to be a leader, but not everyone steps up to be one. I think the skills that I learned over the past years will help with my studies in the Food and Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing Major as well as my future career. I believe these skills would benefit any company and would be a huge asset to my future employer.
