About Mark Thode

My career has taken shape after the things that gave me the most joy in high school and university. Making computers do the heavy lifting in creating calculation engines and expressing complex aspects of the world in simple terms. I am a data scientist who loves model building and experimenting with new data technologies. I love the feeling of accomplishment from combining the rigid constraints of business logic with the freedom and endless possibilities presented by modern data tools. I am working at Danske Bank where I work with a number of data related tasks – from model building, data engineering, database management, data extracts and more. I love my job where I work with Python, SQL, R and Alteryx. My colleagues are the best in the business and often challenge me to step out of my comfort zone to learn innovative new techniques in order to solve problems. I resent rigid hierarchical structures but enjoy informal work environment where a relaxed and playful atmosphere makes learning, communication and innovation possible.
