About Mark Topping

Mark Topping is a subject matter expert in airborne topographic and bathymetric lidar, as well as aerial camera system technology as it pertains to survey and mapping project design and adherence to specified standards in North America. Mark worked with a leading lidar sensor manufacturer for seven years as a Flight Operations Supervisor, Product Manager, Training & Delivery Specialist and a Regional Sales Manager. During this time, he assisted the development of industry-standard lidar sensor products and directly supported many of the current aerial lidar users providing mapping services today. Mark currently contributes to WGI primarily in the area of business development by leveraging his technical background with airborne sensor products and mapping specifications in support of WGI's diverse geospatial practice which provides survey, mapping and engineering services across the United States. Through his specialized role supporting WGI's business development, project management and R&D activities, Mark has direct experience with the aerial lidar and orthophotography requirements utilized by state, provincial and federal agencies throughout North America. Combining his knowledge of leading airborne sensor technology with his experience in geospatial applications, Mark represents a critical resource in project-specific decision making and he brings his enthusiasm for geospatial data collection technology to all projects he works on.
