About Mark Transell

Professional Experience: I am a process control and optimisation engineer with DCS experience on Honeywell, ABB and Foxboro systems and APC experience in both Aspen DMCplus and Honeywell RMPCT. I am committed to maintaining high standards of performance in the products I deliver to clients, with a focus on profitability and sustainable operation. The majority of my experience lies in the petrochemical industry, but I am willing to apply my skills to any process. I'm also a seasoned traveler, hold a South African driving license, and and able to work unusual hours if it means getting the job done. Goals: I am passionate about automation, and passionate about automating dangerous, repetitive or non-creative tasks for the benefit of everyone. Human beings should be interacting, doing jobs that they enjoy, or doing jobs which enrich their lives - let's let the machines do the boring parts for us. I'm a tech junkie, and the best part of any project is getting to code tools to make it easier the next time around; if you're not busy felling trees, you should be sharpening your axe. Specialities: Coding (Visual Basic, Matlab and Python), process modelling, process diagrams, distillation, process optimisation, petrochemical processes, process control.
