About Mark Tulbert

For over 30 years, I've been working in the Raleigh arts community as a performing arts presenter, arts marketer and fundraiser. I’ve spent most of my career planning, promoting and connecting the extraordinary work of vibrant visual and performing arts programs at NC State, finding joy in telling the stories that demonstrate the value of the arts inside a major STEM-focused public research university. I’ve seen the shoestring marketing tools of nonprofit arts administration evolve from print and press releases to websites, broadcast email, and the ever-changing world of social media – and have the skill and experience to know what works where. I approach my work from a holistic perspective, keeping my eye on the big picture rather than just one piece of the puzzle. I place a high value on common sense and resourcefulness. I firmly believe it takes less time to do a job right the first time. Uninformed decisions do not gain my respect. A sense of humor is always important, and laughter is good. Fun facts: I’m a farm kid who made a beeline to the city as soon as I could but didn’t forget important lessons learned in childhood, I love my black coffee, and I drive a car with a stick shift.
