About Mark Valverde

I am a CPA eligible Accounting major attending UTSA. I will be graduating with my Bachelors degree Fall 2020, and starting my graduate courses the following semester. I have a strong passion for tax accounting because of the research it requires and knowledge of the IRC. My passion has always been towards vintage collectibles. I enjoy the prospect of learning about the history of the items and learning specifically why they are valuable. This includes coins, sports cards, stamps, and miscellaneous collectibles. I look forward to learning as much as I can about rare items in the future. Over my experience attending UTSA I have developed a strong grasp of Excel, Word, Access. I look forward to having a position as a Cost or Tax accountant after graduation and continuing my professional career at H-E-B. I have worked with H-E-B as a checker for the past 6 years and very much enjoy their company culture and people. My values as a person reflect my work and my actions at work. They are authenticity, accountability, curiosity, honesty, and knowledge. My current goal for the future is to finish sit for the CPA exam and have an internship where I am able to get a glimpse of the professional world of accounting.
