About Mark W. Kennedy

My experiences are a unique combination of national and international business strategy development and local, state and national education, research and advocacy in public health. My upper level leadership, staff management and fiduciary experience come from my business background. At management consulting firm IdeaScope Associates, I designed and led worldwide strategic innovation initiatives for multinational companies including Proctor & Gamble, 3M, Moen, IBM Research, Eastman Kodak, Schott Glas, Carl Ziess, and more. I transitioned to healthcare in when I took on the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a client. My work in healthcare is focused on driving effective multidisciplinary and community-based interventions at local, state and national levels. Health equity is my superordinate professional goal in healthcare. My work in prostate cancer provides a strong health equity and healthcare communications context given the burden from this disease in a population that is vulnerable based on social and policy determinants. This work has been about behavior change for both the public and providers toward health equity. It has also been about balancing population-based patient care with advocating, educating and driving the creation of clinical guidance for risk-based individual patient care. The educational focus of my work has led to the development and delivery of effective education, communication, marketing and public relations strategies in an area of health that some consider among the most disorganized. My healthcare experience is largely content and stakeholder engagement focused. My goal is to utilize my skills and experience to drive the stakeholder partnerships and public awareness required to create meaningful health communication and address critical public health issues.
