About Mark Wheelis

Over 35 years General Ranch Management experience for a large agriculture operation in Texas. Duties included infrastructure improvement in water sources for livestock and wildlife, developed breeding programs for west Texas and the coastal bend of Texas and increased herd quality through genetics and nutrition programs. I was also responsible for all purchases, including livestock, vehicles and supplies. While in the management role, I developed annual operating budgets for the different ranch locations, increased acreage of the ranches from to acres in west Texas. While living in Marfa, I became director of all public and governmental relationships on state and national level. My duties included extensive travel between properties as well as travel on behalf of the many ranching interests. Having an outstanding performance and ranch horse remuda, a marketing campaign for the equine division, became a focus of interest; this included point of sale contact at various industry trade shows and National Finals Rodeo and American Quarter Horse World Show.
