About Mark Winterstein
Some people drift into a profession while others instinctively know their career choice at an early age. I was in the former group when, in 1974 at the age of 14, I wrote an article and drew an illustration that appeared in a Boy Scout newsletter.(I can still smell the mimeograph fluid.) As I saw the dittos rolling off the press I kew at that moment that I wanted to be in communications where I could combine my love for words and pictures to educate, motivate, amuse and inspire other people. 40 years later I can honestly say that same passion exists in my new dual role as marketing director at two companies that both work at the intersection of the construction and technology industries. From smart buildings to cloud-based software, the strategies and tactics for which I now develop marketing materials are slightly more complex than merit badges and jamborees. But I still find them just as satisfying.
