In December 2013 I was appointed to the city's new Government Relations Administrator position within the Public Affairs and Communications Department. The new position will provide opportunities to develop a more comprehensive legislative strategy. The refined legislative strategy will allow the government relations team to work more effectively with city council, staff citywide and the city's many community, industry, and legislative partnerships to ensure the city's state and federal legislative priorities are successfully represented in the region, Sacramento and Washington. I will continue to serve as staff to the Council's Law & Regulation Committee and will continue to advance the city's legislative priorities and to build strong relationships internally, regionally and with the city's state and federal representatives. The new position will allow me to continue to advocate for the city and to ensure that the city continues to be a strong and distinguished leader in the region. Over the past three years, I had been the government relations analyst responsible for the development and implementation of the citywide government relations advocacy strategy. In my former position with the City's Redevelopment Agency, which began in July I played an active role in all the major redevelopment projects in Downtown Roseville. My postion acted as a liaison to the business and property owners in the Redevelopment Area. I was a member of the Project Infill Team that provides on-site evaluation for business and/or property owners in the City’s infill area. I was also an active member of the Downtown Business Attraction Team whose purpose is attracting and retaining businesses in the Downtown.
