About Marko Mrkonich

Mr. Mrkonich served as the President and Managing Director of Littler Mendelson from 2005 to 2013, completing his eight year term in January of that year. During those years, Littler grew substantially, more than doubling in size and number of locations. While serving as the Firm's CEO, Mr. Mrkonich also maintained his active law practice. Mr. Mrkonich now focuses his practice on discrimination and other employment litigation, client counseling and advice, and traditional labor law issues. He represents clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts, federal and state administrative agencies, and labor arbitration. He has extensive experience in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Mrkonich routinely counsels clients on the proper handling of termination and discipline decisions, reorganizations and reductions in force, employee agreements, human resource policies, leaves of absence, and all other aspects of people management. In addition to his representation of employers in specific matters, Mr. Mrkonich has devoted extensive efforts to training and education and regularly speaks on a wide variety of employment topics. Before joining Littler Mendelson, Mr. Mrkonich served as chairperson of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, where he practiced for 17 years. Mr. Mrkonich is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Minnesota, the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Districts of Minnesota and Wisconsin (Eastern and Western Districts). Mr. Mrkonich began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Miles W. Lord, United States District Court Judge for the District of Minnesota.
