About Markos Konstantakis

As a Research Fellow at Aegean University, I am passionate about exploring the potential of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR), Ubiquitous Computing, and User Experience (UX) to enhance and preserve Cultural Heritage. With over six years of academic research experience and a Ph.D. in Information Technology and Augmented Reality, I have developed and implemented innovative solutions for documenting, restoring, and presenting historical monuments and artifacts using cutting-edge technologies and methods. I have also contributed to the creation and evaluation of digital cultural Serious Games, applying the theory of Gardner's Multiple Intelligences and social media data mining techniques to tailor the game experience to the user's profile and preferences. Additionally, I have been teaching and mentoring students at Ionian University and University of the Aegean, covering topics such as Audiovisual Media Production, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Technologies in Education, and more. I am always eager to learn new skills, collaborate with other researchers and professionals, and share my knowledge and insights with the academic and cultural community. My teaching experience includes courses offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels on the topics of Human Computer Interaction, Digital Culture, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Persuasive Computing and Audiovisual Media Production. I have served as a reviewer, board member, and committee member in numerous international scientific journals, conferences, and workshops, and have been invited numerous times to give talks regarding his research interests and activity. My research on various aspects of intelligent human computer interaction and cultural informatics has been published in more than 20 journal articles and more than 20 papers in conferences and workshops and has been well recognized by the scientific community by being cited more than 250 times with an h-index of 10. I have participated in more than 10 research projects during the past 15 years at the Regional, National and European level as a Researcher and Academic Fellow and worked in the ICT industry for 5 years prior to his academic venture.
