About Markus Eller
Markus Eller joined the JVI in February 2022 as Senior Economist, having previously been Principal Economist at the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB). His research and teaching focuses on fiscal policy, macrofinancial stability, and international capital flows in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In 2013 he spent research stays at the IMF and in 2010 at the Bank of Finland. Before joining the OeNB in 2008, Markus worked at the New Economic School in Moscow and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Markus has a Ph.D. and a master's degree in economics from the Vienna University of Economics & Business and a postgraduate diploma in economics from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. He has published in various international academic journals: American Political Science Review, Constitutional Political Economy, Economics of Transition, Emerging Markets Review, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Regional Studies, among others.
