About Markus Joutsela

I work with university education in visual communication design and packaging design. In addition to teaching, I manage teaching teams, develop education and work with admissions in competitive programs. I am the founder of the Pack-Age minor program at Aalto University. It is focused on multidisciplinary packaging design and innovation projects and it is connecting teachers and students across several schools for project work in explorative and educational setting with partnering companies. My teaching happens in areas of graphic design, design process, strategic design, sustainability, packaging design and product innovation. I have a special interest in design for experiences. I have also worked with a number of larger networked Business Finland research projects investigating folding, value creation, co-creation and lifestyles of health and sustainability (LOHAS) from a number of perspectives.
