About Markus Murto

Hi! I’m ICT student from turku, and I’m a big fan of free and open source software (FOSS) and I’ve been running GNU/Linux on both workstations and servers for many years!I am currently studying Information Techonology in Turku University of Applied Sciences. In my studies I have took part in few open source projects including technologies Python, Django, Express and React.js - many of these applications took advantage of Docker also. In my free time I also manage my own Proxmox and VPSs, on which I run several different services for my own digital needs, for example Nextcloud, Wordpress, Jenkins, and OpenMediaVault. I try to keep up with development of relevant technol- ogy by reading tech news listening to tech podcasts. As a side-effect of my FOSS hobby, open source software licenses have become more or less easy to understand.You can discover the projects I’ve participated during my studies in Github. Projects which have been shipped to production unfortunately are not visible in public Github-repos, but to summarise they have been Python, Django, JavaScript and Vaadin projects.One example of these not-public projects I took part in was a Dockerised Django web application for internal use in a industrial manufacturing company.
