About Markus Orthaber
Since 2013 Markus is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Mechanics at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Austria. He has been heavily involved in blended learning and flipped classroom settings in Engineering Mechanics for years and is always testing new approaches. Markus is also researching ways to incorporate engineering problems into e-assessments in formative as well as summative exams, including complex problems where consecutive errors have to be taken into account. He is a member of the Technology Enhanced Learning Styria (TELS) Group (see edidactics.at), general didactics group, responsible for "Didaktikwerkstatt" as well as a member of the expert-board for the styrian project DIKOS (digital competencies of students). A private side-project started in late 2021 is the website technischemechanik.com where Markus provides resources for self-paced learning of engineering mechanics.
