About Markus Ranne

I am an experienced professional with strong project background and excellent language skills. I specialize in the management and implementation of large and complex projects as well as operations management of international organizations and networks. I feel myself at home in the middle of development projects and change processes. I have worked on very demanding international energy and space projects. During my 10 year stay in the Netherlands, I managed, as member of the project management team, large industrial teams in several successfully completed satellite projects. The industry contributors were distributed throughout Europe and represented close to 20 nationalities. I also gathered 10 years experience in procurement activities of large projects. Until end of 2022 I managed Business Finland’s New Space Economy program, which had the mission of renewing and growing Finnish space sector to be a significant global player in the New Space Economy. Currently I work in a Senior Advisor role in Business Finland's EU Collaboration team, focusing in defence. I am also a National Focal Point for European Defence Fund.
