About Markus Rohrwild

I am an experienced biotech CEO, board director and global healthcare executive. Today, I am driving ambitious growth at Gubra, an innovative biotech company focused on peptide-based drug discovery and providing highly specialized preclinical CRO services. Prior to Gubra, I held several CEO positions within the Roivant company portfolio and led multiple preclinical biotech start-ups specializing in immuno-oncology, infectious diseases, and telemedicine between 2018 and 2025. I also currently serve as Chairman of the Board at both Roivant Sciences and Genevant Sciences in Switzerland. Formerly, I was the Global Head of the Cardio-Metabolic and Ophthalmology Business Franchises at Novartis Pharma. I launched several blockbuster products in various therapeutic areas, including ophthalmology and cardio-metabolic medicine, the latter including the $8 billion blockbuster Entresto. I earned my PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard Medical School.
