About Markus Stock

After finishing the master study in Technical Physics at the Vienna University of Technology in 2003, I started my PhD study at the Medical University Vienna. The topic of the thesis was "Gated Radiotherapy in Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy: Geometric and Dosimetric Aspects" and since this time my main focus of interest lies on dosimetry in radiotherapy and advanced treatment strategies. From 2005 I worked as Medical Physicist at the Department of Radiotherapy at the Medical University of Vienna and gained large experience in high precision radiotherapy treatment planning (VMAT, IMRT, SRT, ESRT, CRT), quality assurance procedures for linear accelerators and implementation of new Dosimetry, IGRT and treatment planning systems. Furthermore I am expert on radiation protection and qualified medical physicist for several years. I have more than 20 publications in high ranking peer reviewed journals, presented my work numerously on international conferences, was often invited for teaching lectures about IGART and dosimetric issues and mentored several master and PhD students. Since 2014 I work as Deputy Head of Medical Physics at the Austrian Particle Therapy Centere MedAustron and in 2015 I gained my Habilitation (Venia Docendi) at the Medical University of Vienna.
