Background

About Markus Teibrich

My major passion is to help individuals and groups to get involved into deep learning processes that are based on emotional experiences. Leaving the comfort zone to grow one's personal or a system's capacity to tackle tough challenges and reforms involving a complex set of dynamics is an activity I really enjoy. Coming from a non-academic background my commitment mostly concentrated on education. So my focus lies on the question how we can change paradigms present in the educational sector that impede learning processes necessary to thrive in the 21st century. Since 2015, I especially pushed forward efforts to bring challenge-based learning opportunities into schools that meet students' needs to become members of a fast changing society in a globalized world. During this time Harvard's Adaptive Leadership Framework became an integral part in our activist challenge working with staff, teachers, students, and school leaders on a local, district and national level. Furthermore, teachers and students who support the teenagers during the planning and debriefing phase of their individual (adaptive) challenges are taking part in trainings that are based on the framework as they take on different leadership roles. Working with individual teachers, school principals, school leaders, students and teenagers in various combinations has brought me into a diverse set of formal or informal roles within the context of educational reform (See for more infos). More recently I also try to bring experiential learning approaches into corporate leadership development programs. As a scholarship-holder of the National Academic Foundation Germany I was given the opportunity to run workshops and seminars on topics regarding educational reform in cooperation with a diverse network of reform-willing schools (read more on:
