About Marlene Beauregard

I am an alumnus of Florida International University, having double majored in Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies, I also hold a certificate in Queer Studies. Through my studies, I have fostered knowledge in writing and reading research papers, identifying neurodivergences and studying how they affect oneself across the lifespan, how intersectionality and hierarchy forms the world around us, and how critical cultural competency and diversity is among spaces, as well as acknowledging and identifying privilege to invoke change. While studying, I participated in an LGBTQIA+ Mentorship Program, an internship with my school's Pride Center and Women’s Centers, and held a full-time job at a restaurant. Specialty skills I have honed in my endeavors include customer service, quality control, management, recordkeeping/inventory, event planning, event coordination/management, time management, and timely service. I am a queer, disabled, woman of color who wishes to work in spaces that support and uplift marginalized communities. I aim to create a safe, trusting, supportive space no matter who I work with or where I am. I am open to listening, learning, and gaining experience through any all means, even if a task or term is completely new to me. I believe that kindness and education go hand-in-hand and to educate oneself is critical to live.
