About Marlene Gomez

I am currently a junior at San José State University majoring in Business Administration with a Human Resource concentration. I have 8+ years of work experience including working in facilities management, retail, food/restaurants, interior design and security. The opportunity to have worked a variety of jobs in different fields has prepared me to confidently navigate my conflict resolution, team building, communication, and organizational skills. As a first generation student and corporate employee, I recognize the disparity of resources amongst people who have a similar background. I aim to make a difference in my community by addressing this disparity and using my skills and knowledge to help others grow. I believe a career in an HR related role will help me achieve creating a positive impact on those who are looking for guidance and an opportunity to learn and develop. As the late Dr. King has said, “Life's most persistent and urgent question is,'What are you doing for others?'"
