About Marlene Saavedra

I am a dedicated educator with 12-plus years of experience teaching LINC, ESL and English for Academic Purposes to a broad range of students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. I have studied at great length the principles of adult education, instructional design, best educational practices, the second-language acquisition process, assessment/evaluation, and technology-enhanced learning. This has helped me make a significant difference in the lives of many students who have expressed great appreciation for my expertise and innovation in lesson planning and instruction as well as my commitment and dedication to meeting their needs. Finding our passions and living them is a vital part of life, and this is why I’ve dedicated my career to helping others meet their needs and reach their goals. Prior to becoming a TESL certified instructor, I concentrated my efforts on providing high quality human services through my work in different capacities at various government and community organizations where I gained in-depth knowledge of program supervision, leadership, administrative processes, as well as employee recruitment and mentoring. Because of my well-rounded academic background and many years of experience as an educator and in various other capacities in the human services field, I have acquired a multitude of skills that allow me to make a valuable contribution in every job that I do. My mission is to bring about positive change and I am committed to continue using my extensive experience towards improving the lives of others.
