Isn’t work – and let’s be honest, life – essentially about finding solutions to problems? And the better you get at solving them, the trickier they tend to become. Back in the day, my challenges were things like explaining to customers why their order got mixed up. Later on, it was explaining to colleagues… why the database got deleted. Let’s just say: I’ve trained my memory to be razor-sharp so I don’t mix up details anymore and on top I’ve learned quite a bit about data security.(We don’t need to talk about why I needed to learn it.) In the end, I believe that admitting mistakes, and actually learning from them, is one of the most powerful tools for tackling any kind of problem. Also sharing and learning from other experiences. Oh, and a healthy dose of humor never hurts.
