About Marlon Willie

I am not just a Founder. I am a creative problem-solver who enjoys building solutions. On my very diverse journey, I'm always deeply interested in the "why not" of things. Most recently I worked with talented developers to build Mangoerrands, a fintech platform that changes the way the world sends money internationally. No other platform allows users to manage how the money they send overseas is actually spent. Previously, receivers had to physically visit a money transfer building to collect the funds - not anymore. In July 2022, we were one of only 13 startups out of 260+ applicants to graduate from the Founder Institute accelerator, and are funding-ready. But before that, I was a part of the team instrumental in building out New York's HOMESTAT, the second-largest homeless population tracking program in the United States. Why not? A few years prior, as a union leader I led a remarkable 14-member team representing 500 staff. We changed the status quo improving conflict outcomes, increasing salaries, home ownership and access to education through creative negotiations and teamwork. So, why not build a billion-dollar company where the business and the people that it serves, wins. I am a creative. I do my best to listen. Most importantly, I'm definitely not afraid to try.
