About Marni Rushing

Marni has a unique background in both interior design and architecture. With more than 20 years of experience, she has worked on a broad range of project types including residential interior renovations, healthcare upfits, medical and lab facilities, and large-scale higher education projects including classroom buildings, mixed use residence halls, and campus and facilities master plans. Marni's main focus has been interior design, working on project programing, space planning, building code analysis. She has designed and detailed interior architecture and millwork, selected and written specifications for furniture and furnishings. Included in her portfolio are several award-winning projects such as the Math and Science Building, Administrative Building and Classroom Building D on Wake Technical Community College’s North Campus as well as the Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee, PA interior office upfit in downtown Raleigh. Marni was recently lead interior designer for the renovation of Terminal 1 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport and worked with the airport staff to develop Design Standards for Terminal 1. Marni was LEED certified in 2004. She has experience designing sustainable buildings.
