About Marnie Kahn

I empower my clients by helping them to clarify their values and getting really clear on what matters to them so they can act in a way that is consistent with the kind of person they want to be and not from their difficult feelings or thoughts, which only compound feelings of anxiety, depression,guilt, shame, or resentment. This clarification of values coupled with acceptance and defusion ( mindfulness skills) helps clients to become aware of and detach from unhelpful thoughts, and allows them to take actions that will move them towards the kind of life they want to live, and the kind of person they want to be. I use ACT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy as well as CBT in an accepting, validating atmosphere, meeting my clients where they are and working together as a team to create a rich and meaningful life. I also teach my clients the skills taught from the HeartMath Institute which help clients to connect to their heart in order to reduce stress and increase overall well being, while connecting to the intuitive wisdom of the heart.
