About Marnie McDowell

I have 30 years of healthcare experience in various nursing positions and settings and 11 years in leadership roles. This experience has enabled me to understand the process, culture and workforce needs of New Zealand healthcare settings whilst delivering outcomes guided by strategic priorities and policy. My mission is to provide exceptional leadership, strategic direction, and clinical expertise to ensure the highest quality of patient care and operational excellence. With a proven track record of success in healthcare management and a deep commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, I am dedicated to driving positive outcomes for both patients and staff My masters degree in leadership and management and my current programme of study in Public policy focussed on health provide a comprehensive academic knowledge base for working in a health setting. I have worked in both the private and public sectors and pride myself on building lasting relationships and gaining rapport with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies within the healthcare sector. I’m passionate about improving overall health outcomes by: • Understanding and implementing the Te Pae Tata values and emphasising Pae Ora to create better outcomes. • Focusing on service improvements for our priority populations-Māori and Pacifica. • Valuing all participants of the health journey- Patients, Whanau, staff and their wellbeing.
