About Marris Clark

I am an Iowa State University alumni, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Studies, and a minor in General Business. I chose this major because I am passionate about Agriculture and would like to be a part of it progressing forward. I declared my minor because I believe having a business side to Agriculture is a great aspect of the industry to have as it can only put you ahead of your peers. I was born into an Agricultural background. Growing up on my family's century farm, I was surrounded everyday with livestock and fieldwork, which really made me passionate about growing the food that feeds America. As I get older, my passion and knowledge for agriculture only grows. I am hoping to channel all of this into a career, where I am able to contribute to the agricultural community. On the business side of things, I currently work full-time at John Deere ISG, run my own Mary Kay business, my own Farmer's Market stand at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market, run two charity/volunteer organizations, as well as working at Outback Steakhouse as a bartender and server. Doing these things allows me to work face-to-face with customers everyday, manage money, manage inventory, and keep financial statements strictly about my business to aid with my finances. I would best describe myself as an accomplished, energetic worker and student, with a solid history of achievement in customer service and a familiarity with livestock, e.g. cattle, goats, and horses. A motivated leader with strong organizational and prioritization abilities. I am hoping to put all of these things to work in order to serve a greater purpose, other than my own.
