About Marsalis Leonard

From the 8 years of working on helicopter engines to the over 4 years of experience working as an industrial mechanic I have gained thousands of hours troubleshooting and repairing the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic, machines required in aviation as well as manufacturing. While serving as a helicopter engine mechanic, I read and understood the technical manuals and operation theory of the gas turbine engines used in UH60 Blackhawk, AH64 Apache, and CH47 Chinook airframes. I did engine removals and installs, teardowns and rebuilds, as well as diagnosing and repairing/replacing faulty components. I kept and maintained records of work performed as well as inventory required. I worked in teams and coordinated with other teams of different aircraft proficiencies to perform work in an organized and efficient manner. I worked in fast paced, high demanding, and stressful environments. After completing a course in mechatronics and achieving a Siemens Level 1 certificate, which certified my abilities to work on complex machines. I began work at Georgia Pacific Corrugated as a maintenance technician from 05/2020-10/2024. Here I further increased my knowledge and experience of complex machines. I gained experience working with 480V, three phase motors, photoelectric sensors, solenoid valves, motor drives, gear reducers, boilers and steam piping, machining, and welding. I learned and used multiple CMMS. I am proficient in the learning and uses of any applicable computer software such as Microsoft Office programs. I have sourced parts and materials by establishing relationships with various vendors. I am not afraid of making mistakes, nor afraid of asking questions. I'm always willing to learn and grow and I am constantly seeking a better, more effective and more efficient way to move forward in all that I do.
