About Marshall King

I worked hard at school and university, got a great job in consulting, took an MBA and rapidly got promoted to Director of an American multinational by age 30. Sounds good, right?But deep down, I wanted something else—the satisfaction of building a business, creating a high-performing team and controlling my destiny. So I left the multinational and did a start-up. It was tough but satisfying. We raised money, had a false start, then made a small acquisition, found our niche, increased our focus and grew rapidly to £60m in revenue and 450 staff. I sold the business to a UK plc. That was back in 2008. From 2009 to 2018, I ran VC-backed businesses between £1m and £80m of revenue in financial services, property and technology. Over the past 25 years I've run many businesses, created numerous strategies, hired and fired management teams, built sales teams, and improved operations. I've led fundraising, acquisitions or business sales of over £120m in value.Some have been growth stories, and others have been about maximising the outcome for shareholders in difficult situations. I've realised through these varied experiences that I enjoy helping entrepreneurs, founders and CEOs grow, finance and sell businesses. What can I do for you?
