About Marshall Roache

Marshall Roache started his career in education as a Criminal Justice adjunct instructor in 2011 at Chemeketa Community College. He accepted a full-time faculty position the next year and was made program chair shortly thereafter. Marshall was involved in creating the curriculum for two AAS degrees in Criminal Justice and later became Dean of Emergency Services and the Brooks Regional Training Center in 2015. For the past two years he has served Chemeketa as Executive Dean of Career and Technical Education. He has spoken on behalf of CTE and Chemeketa at conferences in six different states and has twice been published in industry periodicals. As a cisgender, multiracial, bilingual Puerto Rican, Marshall promotes equitable student success through culturally responsive teaching. Marshall's educational journey includes a bachelor's in English and a master's in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on team building. He believes deeply in the connection between industry and colleges through advisory boards and industry partnerships. Recently, he enrolled as a doctoral student and is pursing an Ed.D. in Higher Education. Prior to Chemeketa, Marshall worked as a police officer, a school resource officer and a detective before becoming a full-time trainer at DPSST, the state's police academy where he served as the operations manager for the training division. He's also experienced as a general manager in the public sector where he worked in his family's businesses. In his personal life, Marshall is married and has two children in college. He and his wife live on a small farm outside of Salem, Oregon where they practice regenerative farming. As a lifelong coach, he holds numerous national level coaching certifications. Marshall is passionate about coaching and equal representation for women in athletics, specifically wrestling.
