Background

About Marta Torelli

Italian qualified Attorney with a strong academic background on European Studies. I already obtained a Master's degree on European Affair at the college of Europe of Parma with grade “very good” (ADES: Advance Diploma in European Studies). Moreover, I took a course in Cooperation and Development at the IUSS (Institute for Advanced Studies) in Pavia and I'm currently enrolled at the HEF MASTER at the University of Parma (HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT & FOOD: European law and risk regulation). Accordingly, I have a deepened my background both on European matters and international organizations, completed by knowledge of NGO’s system and Project Cycle Management. During my academic years, I have been awarded several scholarships to participate to European Projects (Erasmus, Leonardo and Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs trainee program) having the opportunity to live, study and work as a trainee in Cardiff, Brussels, Dublin. Duties and responsibilities faced during different trainings enabled me to develop my leadership and problem-solving skills and increased my awareness of the dynamics of multinational networks, NGO’s system and stakeholders at European and international level. I've been working for a few years in a big construction company where I was in charge of finding interesting opportunities to participate to public tenders, particularly outside the Italian market and had to manage the administrative part of the proposal in coordination with the team of engineers dealing with the technical specifications. This role gave me the opportunity to work and travel to Turkey, Romania, Croatia, Albany and got me prepared and proactive to work in time constraints and under pressure. I am, now, open to new professional challenges.
