About Martijn Lammaing

The first couple of years of my career I mostly worked at firms that serviced the public sector with IT solutions. This was mainly within the Microsoft stack (C#, MSSQL server, Visual Studio). There I did smaller projects mostly, like designing a configurable calculator for vacation money, of a system to dole out parking permits. After a couple of years I took a sabbatical to pursue various interests, spending a lot of time on pet projects like making a cargo bike, doing a year of electrical engineering courses, and figuring out other stacks that might interest me. This exploring led me to focus on nodejs development, and the dynamic ecosystem surrounding it. Moving to Vienna to start at myClubs, it enabled me to expand my experience into topics like noSql databases, functional programming and micro service architectures. I started there as the 2nd software developer, next to the current CTO, which gave a lot of room for experimenting and responsibility in keeping the system running. They've grown to a 6 person development team in the meantime, which allowed me more mentoring opportunities, which I hope I’ll be doing more of in the future.
