Background

About Martin Bloxham

Over the last 15 years, I’ve been working with scientists and science organisations to develop present and future leaders, build better partnerships and teams, and improve productivity. Through the Barefoot Thinking Company, I have been involved in the development of training courses and programmes on the Challenge of Science Leadership, providing scientists with a toolkit to help them lead and facilitate effective innovation, communication and collaboration. I also provide coaching to clients working in the science and engineering sectors, particularly those in the environmental and natural sciences. With my experience of working with thousands of scientists through the CSL programme and my background as a scientist, I have a good understanding of the challenges that scientists face, whether in academia, research, for government agencies, the corporate sector or NGO’s."My coaching sessions with Martin were great. I really enjoyed them and particularly appreciated how he tailored each one to my needs. I feel that Martin’s coaching helped me to think more strategically about my work and what I need to do to get where I want to be." Coaching Client, 2022
