Building systems that empower learners Always thinking, always learning, always sharing I am a creative thinker and critical realist with an enduring passion for education, training, and transformation. As the CEO and Founder of Edu Alliance, I lead national and international projects that focus on developing quality education and training systems. With a career spanning further and higher education, I work at the intersection of policy, practice, and innovation, with deep expertise in quality assurance, VET & HE systems, curriculum design and development, learning architecture, and institutional development. My focus lies in reimagining education systems that are not only grounded in quality, but also designed to adapt, evolve, and empower. I believe in shifting from compliance-driven frameworks to capacity-building cultures, where learners thrive and institutions lead with purpose. Whether contributing to Bologna Process developments, leading curriculum reform, or mentoring future educational leaders, I bring a global perspective, an evidence-based mindset, and a drive to turn ideas into impact. Over the years, I’ve held several leadership positions within Malta’s education system, including: CEO of the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) Director for Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning Director of Studies and Curriculum Development Senior Lecturer, EU Project Leader, and academic roles at MCAST, ITS, and the University of Malta Academically, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Physics, an MSc in Sustainable Development, and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in International Business & Management with a research focus on the rise and impact of international education hubs. At the heart of my work is a belief in education as a force for equity and opportunity. Let’s build smarter systems—and a more equitable future—together. Outside of my professional work, I am passionate about sports and fitness, particularly football and running, as well as wellbeing and exploring the world through travel. I am always learning, always curious—and always committed to growth.
