About Martin Clarkson

I am an experienced and enthusiastic professional technical individual who has enjoyed a career helping organisations understand and implement complex technical change in a way that delivers benefit to their business. Throughout my time in the industry I have embraced changes in technology, from my early days dealing with the explosion of x86 distributed server architectures, through the deployment of enterprise technologies to manage them, embracing enterprise x86 virtualisation with all of its benefits, dealing with the explosion in public/hybrid cloud and most recently, understanding the outcomes that customers need from the applications they build. I engage with customers and work hard to understand the business problems they are trying to solve for and then I apply the right technical solution within the right business context. Leveraging the skills and capability of both mine and partner organisations to deliver a solution that moves the customer forward. I have focused heavily on building my leadership skills so that I am able to make quick decisions, leverage big relationships with others in my organisation, partners or within my customers and engage teams and individuals in delivery projects that are successful in achieving outcomes that our customers need. My investment in leadership skills has also given me the capability to effect change within my own organisation, whether it be building new technical capability within our teams, create the right propositions for our customers or to leverage organisational changes to make us more competitive or appropriate for our customers. This has been massively rewarding when we get it right and important learning when we don’t. I thrive on delivering great technical solutions the solve real business problems and the self development it requires to be able to, I still get a buzz when something new comes along and I get to grips with it for the first time.
