About Martin Croft

I'm a skilled communications professional, capable of analysing complex situations swiftly, developing appropriate advice and selling that advice in to clients. As a writer, I am fast and fluent and can explain complicated ideas simply, when necessary. Over the course of my career, I have written everything from press releases, news stories, features, blogs, tweets, thought leadership pieces, academic reports, responses to government consultations and industry codes of conduct - plus pub quizzes (for clients, honest). I have worked as a sub-editor, reporter, features editor and editor at advertising, marketing and digital trade titles and in the national press. I have also spent two spells editing computer games magazines and have a lifelong and passionate interest in technology and gaming and the intersection of the two. I transitioned from pure journalism to corporate communications more than 10 years ago, and have worked for a number of trade associations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Institute of Direct Marketing (now part of the Direct Marketing Association UK) and the Institute of Promotional Marketing. Since 2014, I have been juggling freelance journalism, corporate communications, web editing and other writing. Recently, I have written about Blockchain, cryptocurrencies, The Internet of Things (and the Internet of Packaging), turning books, films and TV shows into online and mobile games, digital screen networks, and how to create engaging content for websites. I now work full time for Inngot, handling PR and marketing for this innovative Swansea-based IP services company.
