About Martin Dobson
Martin has over 30 years of Oil Field industry experience, currently as Director-Reserves and Technology, previously with Chesapeake Energy for 7 years in Reservoir Engineering and Sr. Director of Reservoir Technology. Mr. Dobson also retired from Marathon Oil Company after 23 years where he performed in various field, operations management and reservoir engineering positions. His experience is related to onshore U.S. horizontal shale, tight gas resource development, coal bed methane, conventional sandstone, limestone and EOR projects. Martin is a 29 year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and is author or co-author of 6 SPE Technical Papers. His recent publication work is an industry leading practical method for disclosure of probabilistic oil and gas reserves, these are now industry standard practices under the SEC modernized rules, supported by the SPEE and have been used by Chesapeake Energy for five years to report proved reserves to the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC). He holds a MS from Brigham Young University.
