About Martin Downes

Learning and Innovation Lead Consultant at Cwmpas, Creator of Start Something Good® and the Hack of Kindness, Fellow of the RSA. We bring people together to develop fresh ideas to solve the problems that we all care about. On a mission to see communities, business, public bodies and organisations unlock democratic creativity, changemaking, and develop innovative ideas for social good. I'm also a writer, published author and public speaker - including telling my story of experiencing severe childhood trauma. Also, a deep concern about male suicide and mental health. Looking to encourage goodness and kindness through the social business world. I have worked in the not for profit sector for 20 years, including five years as a senior manager for a UK wide charity. It is a sector that I know, love, and I am privileged to work in. I also spent five years as a director of Luminous Media, and prior to that worked in the commercial sector.
