About Martin Griffith

I’m a mechanical and computational engineer with 18 years’ experience investigating engineering problems with numerical simulation and crafting tools for their analysis. I started out working in fluid dynamics research and have an extensive publication record in topics such as cardiovascular flow, cycling aerodynamics and fluid energy harvesting. I have wide-ranging experience using commercially available computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and developing in-house CFD software. For the past 8 years, I’ve worked in the mining industry, principally on underground ventilation network modelling, on software development and training. I’ve led the development teams for Ventsim and Pumpsim for 5 years, while carrying out research and development on tools for underground mine heat modelling, automated model calibration, goaf gas modelling, caving airblasts and more.
