Dr Martin Risak is Associate Professor at the Department of Labour Law and Law of Social Security at the University of Vienna, Austria where he teaches Austrian and European Labour Law and Law of Social Security. He has been substitute Professor for Civil Law and Labour Law at the Faculty of Laws of the University of Passau, Germany, William Evans Visiting Fellow at the University of Otago, New Zealand and an associate with the international law firm CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz in Vienna, Austria. From 2010 to 2012 he was a Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellow based at the University of Otago, New Zealand and the University of Vienna researching the mediation of employment disputes. Martin Risak is Inter Alia the chairperson of Senate II of the Austrian Equal Treatment Commission and the national expert with the the“European centre of expertise in the field of labour law, employment and labour market policies (ECE)" that advises the European Commission. He is on the editorial board of Zeitschrift für Arbeitsrecht und Sozialrecht (Austrian Journal of Labour Law and Social Law) and has published and edited more than 20 books and more than 120 articles, primarily in the fields of Austrian, European and International Labour Law and the Law of Social Security.
