About Martin Hetzer

For 15 years now, I have been working as a project RAM, Safety and Security Manager in the railway, defense and automotive domains for companies such as Rheinmetall, Bombardier, Siemens and Deutsche Bahn. In addition to my profound methodological expertise in risk analysis and dealing with hazards in state-of-the-art development and user projects, my range of tasks increasingly includes the introduction of new products and the innovation of existing products in growing international project organizations. As Senior Key Expert Safety and Security, I initiate innovation projects on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for safety-relevant rail applications and support forward-looking tenders, e.g. for future high-speed, highly automated regional as well as urban rail platforms. Among other things, I carry out risk analyses to derive requirements for future technologies in the context of Automatic Train Control (ATC), e.g. Automatic Train Operation (ATO) and Remote Train Operation (RTO) as well as European Train Control System (ETCS). I contribute my acquired knowledge directly to European standardization groups (ERJU, UNISIG) and national standardization groups (VDE/DKE).
