About Martin Johnson

After graduating in 2007 from the Dramatic Institute of Arts Martin Johnson have been working as a radio producer, sound designer and journalist. 2008 he won the international prestigious Prix Italia for his documentery "My father takes a vacation", the same year the documentary was awarded with the Public Service price Ikaros. His documentaries have been broadcasted across Europe in countries like England, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Germany, Hungary and Italy, and has been nominated for national and international prices. In 2013 the documentary "Echo Chamber" co-produced with Ciaran Cassidy won a special commendation for Europes best investigating radio documentary at Prix Europa. In 2013 he was also awarded with the Swedish Writers Unions Radio price for his work as a radio producer. The same year the architect show "Fasad" which he produced was awarded for "Educator of the year" by Sveriges Arkitekter. 2014 "The Eco Chamber" won a Gold Medal at the New York Festival. 2014 he was also awarded with the Google innovation price for finding new ways of distributing radio. He is the cofounder of Sountelling and is currently working for Swedish Radio, BBC and is the producer of the podcast Spår distributed by A-cast. He is also the co-founder of The Sarah Awards that celebrates radio fiction for the 21st century. Currently working on a HBO series to be released 2021.
