Background
About Martin McKeith
I have worked as an Architectural Adviser in Corporate Estates since 2014. From 2003 to 2014, following my graduation with an honours degree in Architecture from the Dublin Institute of Technology, I was employed by Collins Maher Martin Architects. Since completing my undergraduate degree, I have continually sought to improve my education and skill set. I have been elected a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI), completed a Masters in Urban and Building Design (MUBC), become accredited in conservation at Grade Ill by the RIAI, qualified as a Building Energy Rating (BER) assessor for domestic and non-domestic buildings, practised as a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) assessor and undertaken a PhD in Architectural History. My role as Project Architect with Collins Maher Martin Architects provided me with excellent on-site experience and invaluable design and project management skills. Working as an Architectural Adviser in HSE Estates has allowed me to build on the experience from my previous employment and provided me with extensive experience of the Irish Health Estate, healthcare development, medical equipping and public procurement. I have experience and expertise in respect of large healthcare infrastructural development, campus planning, healthcare briefing software (ADB), sustainability in healthcare and I am a Project Team member for the National Estates Information Management System. Whilst I thrive within a dynamic team environment, I am also a self-starter with the ability to work on my own initiative. Through my roles of Project Architect and Architectural Adviser, I have developed the ability to multi-task, interact with stakeholders and interdisciplinary team members, and to work to tight deadlines and budgets whilst maintaining careful and accurate attention to detail. My academic experience has, in particular, developed my writing, research and presentation expertise and improved my critical and analytical thinking skills. I have an avid and active interest in architecture and architectural history. I am a member of ICOMOS and the Irish Georgian Society and in 2015 my MUBC thesis received the Rachel MacRory memorial award for excellence in urban and building conservation research. I was elected to the RIAI council for the 2019/2020 cycle.
