Background

About Martin Obray

Having intense training in the military for various roles over a number of years, spending 4 and a half years on a Naval warship travelling extensively abroad and working as a Ballast Control Operator on an FPSO and MODU has given me a good grounding for the oil and marine industry. Also having been trained in a management and interpersonal skills capacity and being in control of a medium to large team of employees has benefited me to combine this training with running the daily operations in the control room. I am confident in decisions I make, as well as taking charge of a team or tasks placed upon me. I aim to obtain the best results from the team whilst maintaining high safety standards and keeping moral at a high. I respect my superiors and listen to authority and value all knowledge passed on to me or gained from any operation.Having completed the necessary courses and obtaining the correct certification for the Liberian Ballast Control licence and then completing the USCG approved OIM/Barge Supervisor course, I am confident in the position of a Ballast Control Operator and strive always to maintain the high standards and responsibility this position holds.
