About Martin Schultz

I served as the Legislative Director in the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02). I was responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day operations of the legislative team, developing the overarching legislative strategy for the Congresswoman, and overseeing the implementation of her legislative goals. Significant responsibilities of this role include research and writing on federal policy, maintaining and enhancing relationships with constituents and stakeholders, and mentoring the junior staff in advancing the Congresswoman’s agenda. I also served as the primary staffer for her work on the House Ways and Means Committee and policy areas covering healthcare, agriculture, and welfare. My work allowed me to hone my skills in formulating policy, coalition development, independent problem-solving, and drafting questions and statements for committee hearings or floor speeches. I worked on numerous pieces of legislation on a wide range of policy areas, resulting in several bills being signed into law during the 114th, 115th, 116th, and 117th Congress. I am incredibly grateful that my professional experience has provided me with the opportunity to work my way up the ladder within the office and has allowed me to become acquainted with all aspects of running a successful operation, both as a leader and an individual staffer. The broad range of responsibilities I have managed has given me the capability to adapt to any situation and find creative solutions to problems.
